Craftsmanship Program

The Craftsmanship is an innovative waste management and upcycling initiative by Mowasalat (Karwa) designed to inspire environmental responsibility and creativity among employees. This hands-on program transforms discarded materials from our operations—such as scrap wood, plastic, rubber, and metal—into meaningful crafted items and artworks.

Paper Recycling Initiative
As part of our Sustainability Week celebrations, our Sustainability Team and students are launching a Paper Recycling Initiative to promote environmental responsibility within our school community. Students will take action by placing collection boxes in classrooms to gather used paper, which will then be sent to a recycling factory. This initiative encourages everyone to reduce waste, reuse resources, and contribute to a greener planet.

 

Rihla Initiative Policy Forum

The Policy Forum will take place over two days, combining closed-door working sessions with public-facing events. The Forum will bring together 50+ members of the Rihla Policy Council, along with invited experts, policymakers, and institutional partners. Public sessions will also engage the wider Doha-based policy, academic, and diplomatic communities.

Blood Donation Campaign at The Pearl and Gewan Islands

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan Islands in collaboration with HMC organizing Blood Donation Campaign at The Pearl and Gewan Islands in celebration of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025 to promote healthy community and to be part of saving someone else’s life and achieving the sustainable development goals of The Pearl and Gewan Islands.

Plastic Campaign Recognition

In celebration of The Pearl Island's and Gewan Island 'Plastic Recycling Initiative 2025', United Development Company is pleased to honor companies and retailers for their support and participation in achieving the goals of this campaign, thanking them for their dedication and distinguished role in preserving the environment.  

Activities at Community Garden

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan Islands organizing an interactive activity at the Community Garden - Beach Centrale - Duck Lack, in celebration of Qatar Sustainability Week 2025 to Help protect the environment and achieve the sustainable development goals for both The Pearl and Gewan islands.  

Seabed Cleanup Campaign 2025

United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl and Gewan Islands, organizing Seabed Cleaning Campaign 2025 5th edition at Porto Arabia - Parcel 17 on The Pearl Island, This initiative, part of UDC's strategic understanding for ecology perseveration and management efforts, where this Seabed Clean up would bring together professional divers alongside Community members for a day dedicated to environmental awareness and marine conservation.

Eco Dome

This project is a student-led recycling and greening project that diverts single-use plastic bottles from waste streams and repurposes them into a functional greenhouse. Aligned with the environmental pillar of Qatar’s national agenda and the spirit of Qatar Sustainability Week, the project turns abstract sustainability goals into tangible action on campus. Students will collect, sort, and engineer with reclaimed materials; apply scientific enquiry (microclimate, plant growth, humidity/temperature), and practice safe construction methods while collaborating across year groups.

Qatar Foundation - Clean Plate Campaign

Month-long Clean Plate Campaign across QF cafeterias, culminating during Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW, Earthna). Cut visible plate waste, nudge lasting habits, and showcase Education City's leadership on sustainability. Building on the resounding success of City Operations' "Plate Waste" measuring initiative, which ignited significant behavioral shifts, this campaign propels us forward! We're not just measuring anymore; we're actively progressing towards eliminating plate waste entirely, setting a new benchmark for sustainable practices.
