Have you ever had to go about your daily life while your house was on fire? Probably not. As strange and absurd as it might seem, however, this is the situation that we find ourselves in today. Our home, the earth, is on fire, and we each have a duty to help save it from destruction.

We are pleased to announce that MEPI Student Leaders Program (SLP) is now accepting applications until December 18, 2023. The SLP is a rigorous leadership and civic engagement program tailored for 20-24 year old undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates, or those commencing graduate studies, with a strong commitment to addressing climate change and environmental protection.

Students will be devising posters, leaflets and speeches to encourage awareness of the importance of recycling and reusing products.

ملخص البحث: الطالبة غاليه الشمري/لولوة اليافعي ملخص البحث: بدأ الشعور بالمشكلة عندما لاحظت كثرة النفايات المنزلية التي تطرح يوميا في صناديق القمامة في حينا السكني. عندها شعرت بالحزن الشديد فذلك . فأخدت أفكر بعمق ثم التقيت بصديقتي في المدرسة و جلسنا نفكر سويا وبعد فترة من النقاش قنا بتحديد المشكلة وهي عدم الستفادة من النفايات وتجنب تأثيراتها السلبية على الت ربة والبيئة . أخذنا بطرح حلول مختلفة حتى توصلنا الى فكرة إنتاج السماد العضوي الذي يستعمل في الز ارعة.

As an integral part of our sustainable company pledge, we are dedicated to: · Our implementation of comprehensive Waste Segregation Projects and Recycling initiatives for Plastic, E-waste, Food, Carton, Used cooking oil and Wood has been a resounding success, resulting in a remarkable 3,600 tons diverted from landfills, equivalent to a 36% reduction in waste sent to landfill sites. · Embracing the adoption of Eco-friendly products (wooden cutleries and Biodegradable products) as a pivotal step to significantly reduce our environmental footprint.

Since 2016, Carrefour Qatar has achieved significant energy savings, amounting to 7,200 tons of CO2 emissions. This accomplishment is the result of our commitment to incorporating a range of sustainable technologies, including LED lights, water optimization and tuning, double glazing doors, capacitor banks, retrofit chillers, and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) for refrigeration compressors. We have also introduced water-saving measures such as tap aerators, reducers, and sensors, as well as condensate water collection.
