We have no doubt water will be needed to produce the necessary 60 % extra food, and it is likely climate change will cause more frequent and intense weather events, such as droughts and floods, with a devastating impact on the food production system.

Amid worsening localized water scarcity, the potential to recover water from air and its capture on the ground is by far the most under-explored. Under pertinent conditions, cloud seeding could be used to enhance rainfall by dispersing substances into the air for cloud condensation, resulting in an increase in rainfall in the target area.
