Amid worsening localized water scarcity, the potential to recover water from air and its capture on the ground is by far the most under-explored. Under pertinent conditions, cloud seeding could be used to enhance rainfall by dispersing substances into the air for cloud condensation, resulting in an increase in rainfall in the target area. Similarly, water embedded in fog could be transformed into a source of potable water in dry areas where fog intensity and events are common. In addition, micro-scale capture of rainwater where it would otherwise evaporate supports local water needs.
