Grow & Glow - Qi Apothecary @ Qatar Sustainability Week 2025

Rooted in Renewal — From Soil to Soul

At Qatar Sustainability Week, we gather for our Qatar & I — our Qi, the vital life force that flows through all living things. This week is an invitation to remember that human health and planetary wellbeing are reflections of the same energy, moving in harmony when we live with awareness, care, and connection.

Our journey unfolds through five guiding principles that cultivate balance and regeneration — within ourselves, our communities, and the earth:

Moving Feet, Touching Lives

A wellness initiative designed to encourage physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle among employees. This fitness challenge motivates the employees to dedicate 1 hour each day to walking, helping improve overall health and well-being. Beyond individual fitness, the activity fosters camaraderie, and a collective sense of purpose, as employees unite in reaching personal and group goals. By staying active, participants contribute not only to their own health but also to creating a positive, energetic work environment.

Beach Cleanup

As part of its continued commitment to sustainability and community engagement, Northwestern Qatar will host a desert cleanup near the Singing Sand Dunes on Friday, October 31, 2025.

Organized by the NU-Q Wellbeing and Community Committee, the event will bring together faculty, staff, students, and their families for an afternoon dedicated to environmental stewardship and collective action.

The initiative supports Northwestern Qatar’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices within and beyond the campus community.

Family Day at the Mangrove Restoration Project

Earthna is welcoming the Qatar Natural History Group for a family day in the field site of its Mangrove Restoration Project in Al Ruwais. Dr. Aspa D. Chatziefthimiou, the Chief Scientific Officer of the Project, will lead the group in an exploration of the mangrove forest and the wonderful and colorful animals that inhabit it. Along the Project’s partner team from Agrico, Dr. Aspa will teach families how to become nature stewards by getting hands and feet dirty restoring the forest, caring for seedlings in our coastal nurseries and receiving sites.
