For Green Day 2019 Doha English Speaking School will be turning off all lights, teaching aids and electrical devices for one hour. During that hour, teachers and children will hold discussions on how we can contribute to making Qatar a sustainable country. They will also take part in litter picking, ECO fashion shows, creating recycled art projects and much more.

Georgetown University Qatar will be implementing the following Challenges for the QSW 2019:

• Ban of a one-time use of Plastic Water Bottle on Campus 
• Start a recycling program Plastic, Metal and Paper 
• Offer healthy food choices 
• Donate, charity events 
• Continue raising sustainability awareness 

Bedaya Center team will collect papers for recycling and it will be sent to Elite Paper Recycling

ECGC employees will gather to do the litter picking within the vicinity. Employees will be divided into groups and will have their own assignment of the area of their responsibility for this activity.

We are a martial arts school with around 150 students. Our students get 10% discount on the new term, if they help us clean up the plastic in the desert on a Friday afternoon

Naufar kitchen takes an initiative in recycling food waste from the preparation. This stage takes a vital part in the process in which the vegetable peels that usually ends up in the trash are being used and recycled (usable part). Trimmings and peels are roasted, boiled to make vegetable stock. The stock is used in the dishes to enhance its flavor.

With our commitment to the environment, our office is adopting the following practices, some of which already in action, to promote sustainability and Qatar vision 2030:

Employees will participate in growing their own plants, by planting the seeds in small pots and place it on their individual desks.

Pots will be used from recycled materials to reduce waste.

Plants will help improve the indoor air quality and increase employees productivity and satisfaction.

We at Ginger Camel believes in investing for a sustainable environment, that is why we made a choice to share a ride with our colleagues everyday going to work, and back to our homes. It was a little sacrifice that we had give, but little did we know we are not just minimizing car emissions in Doha, it also gives us an opportunity to get to know the people we worked with even more⁠. It is a mixture of feeling good about doing something right while also enjoying the people who share the same belief and care for the environment with you.

Awareness needs to be created in a diverse way which can gage the attention of an audience. Social Media is a great tool to send a critical message across to millions and educate oneself. The topic is of a broad spectrum and many believe they can’t do anything about it and hence we need to start by the basic, which is merely educating the masses. Recycling initiatives, showcasing documentaries, training on the subject, planting a tree and discussion which entails clips from environmentalists like Leonardo Di Caprio , Greta Thungberg, Al Gore and David Attenborough.
