Recycle Bins We have our recycle bins in every classroom which makes it easier to collect and separate the recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard and plastic from the general waste before they end up in landfills. By using recycle bins we can recycle more and more! We also recycle in the canteen now that it has opened again. ONLY WHITE PAPER! We have little green boxes in every classroom so we don't have to leave our classrooms to throw in white paper every time.

Oryx International school's has launched the 'Eco Warrior' Campaign to raise awareness among the school community and engage the students and teachers iin a number of sustainability activities. The initiatives include waste, recycling, planting and school trips.

Our 'Kids Sustainability Event' sparked excitement among our staff's young learners. Through interactive videos, quizzes, and eco-friendly activities, we made learning about protecting the environment an absolute blast - all on a single, unforgettable day! Nurturing the minds of our youth with environmental awareness sets the stage for a more vibrant and sustainable tomorrow. Huge appreciation to our dedicated staff and their eco-conscious children for crafting such a remarkable occasion.

Waste generated in the project is assessed in in the criterion Waste Management under the Management and Operations . This criterion identifies methods and measures to be implemented to reduce, collect, segregate, transport, recycle and dispose of waste generated on site. The degree of implementation of these methods and measures is determined based on the project documentation in the form of a Waste Management Report

ضمن فعاليات وزارة التربية والتعليم بداية العام الأكاديمي 2023-2024 في الأسبوع الأول من بداية العام الدراسي وهي فعالية تطوير مهني تشمل جميع الكوادر الحكومية و حضور لقادة المدارس في ورشة التنمية المستدامة في المدارس تقديم اللجنة الوطنية القطرية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم – اليونسكو حيث تم عرض ممارسات متميزة لمدرسة قطر الابتدائية للبنات لرسومات الطالبات أثناء حصص الفنون البصرية لأشجار المانجروف والقصص المصورة للمواقع الأثرية كالزبارة والتغييرات المناخية والتي تهدف لنشر ثقافة الاستدامة وربطها بمادة الفنون البصرية بإشراف المعلمة نوف آ ل ثاني وتم عرض ممارسات مختلفة للتنمية المستدامة لعدة مدارس الهد

ضمن خطة اليونسكو لتفعيل محور المدارس الخضراء وللتوعية ونشر المبادرات الإيجابية الخضراء ذات النفع للمجتمع تم تنفيذ الطابور الصباحي بعنوان التعليم الأخضر تحقيقاً لرؤية وزارة التربية والتعليم في توفير فرص تعلم دائمة ومبتكرة ذات جودة وتعزيز الشراكة المجتمعية وحرصاً على تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة والتعريف بها ونشرها من خلال مبادرة جماعة اليونسكو معاً لمستقبل مستدام تم عرض فيديو في الإذاعة الصباحية للجميع لإنجازات وممارسات متميزة للأنشطة الصفية واللاصفية وفي حصص الفنون البصرية للتعريف والتعزيز بالتعليم الأخضر والوعي بقضايا البيئة وسبل التعامل والتعايش معها ونشر فكرة التعليم الأخضر للسعي للعمل

Our school will unite to create a week's worth of activities including:

-biodiversity gardening -creating furniture and fashion from recycled products

- a campaign to educate the public about sea turtles (multiple languages)

-love letters to Planet Earth (multiple languages)

-sustainable food production and permaculture -composting

Various awareness sessions shall be held at IDC sites / Offices to increase awareness about sustainability like using of Metro, switching off light during day time, and use of motion sensor to switch off light, automation system to switch off AC when not in use, having camp near to site to avoid transportation of workers.
