1. Students will collect or bring plastic bottles and cans. They will put them in the recycling boxes provided by the school.

During their PE, Art and ECA lessons, these collected plastic bottles and cans will be recycled to create useful objects to be used in the school such as pencil holders, lamps, pots, etc.

Al Meera launched a campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastic bags

In celebration of International Plastic Bag Free Day,  Al Meera did not use any single-use plastic bags across all of its branches on this day to raise awareness and interest amongst the community.  Al Meera stresses that protecting the environment is its top priority and an integral part of its commitment to both the environment and society, pointing out that the initiative contributes to urging community members to choose eco-friendly shopping bags over plastic, ultimately reducing waste volume.

Al Meera Organizes a Campaign to Clean up Simaisma Beach in Collaboration with  Ministry of Municipality and Hamad Bin Khalifa University

In collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, Al Meera organized a blood donation campaign for  customers at the Ain Khalid and Al Thumama branches.

This year QWS coincides with 'Dentons Giving Month'.  

The Dentons first-ever Giving Month (24 Sept - 31 Oct) brings us together to make a difference in our communities and environment.

As a firm, we are in a unique position to contribute meaningfully to those in need, leveraging the privilege and resources we have by virtue of our profession.  

Reducing waste by repurposing gently used clothing, toys and books, is an example of the three main pillars of 'sustainability' – environmental concerns, 
social responsibility and economic cooperation.

The Global Green Brand Ambassador event at Lycée Bonaparte International School will feature two key activities:

1. Presentation on Recycling Awareness for Students – Aimed at educating students about the importance of recycling and environmental responsibility along with an open debate about sustainability.
2. Composting Activities – Hands-on workshops where participants will learn the basics of composting and its environmental benefits.

During the Sustainability Week, we are encouraging mindful paper usage in printing:

Think twice before you print to conserve paper and reduce waste. Only print when necessary, and opt for digital documents to save trees, decrease energy consumption, and minimize your environmental impact.

This sustainability week, apart from other environmental related initiatives, we will organize an intra-company Social Sustainability event focusing on health aspect.

We will be organizing a sports afternoon filled with different sporting activities and challenges to maintain health balance of our team.

The grade 6 INS students at Swiss International School will spend Sustainability Week collaborating with turtle rescue projects in Qatar and the Maldives. They will gather data on how ordinary children in Qatar can protect endangered marine life and they will educate their community through their online magazine. Students will then adopt a sea turtle from The Olive Ridley Project.
