Are you curious about what sustainability means and how it impacts our daily lives? Join us for "Sustainability 101," a lecture designed to introduce the undergraduate students to the basics of sustainability and environmental awareness. In this engaging and informative session, we will explore the fundamental principles of sustainability, including its importance, key concepts, and practical steps each of us can take to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Roots Energy & Engineering actively promotes paper recycling and encourages employees to contribute to a greener environment. The company conducts environmental awareness programs to enhance employees' commitment to sustainability.

The Embassy of Switzerland, in collaboration with DeapQatar Conservation, invites the Swiss community and companies to celebrate nature by participating in a beach cleanup in Northwest Qatar by the heritage village Al Arish on Friday, 4 October 2024 at 4:15pm. 

This is a family friendly activity. Volunteers need to have their own transportation.

Our secondary school students will take part in assemblies and four 20-minute enrichment activities throughout the week. One highlight is a sustainability-themed baking competition, where students will be challenged to bake a cake with sustainability in mind.

They will also participate in a recycled tower competition, where form houses will compete to see who can build the tallest tower using only recycled materials.

Our primary school children will be participating in a "Make Something from Nothing" competition, where they’ll use their creativity and imagination to transform 'rubbish' into unique creations of their choice.

In addition, they will attend assemblies led by our secondary Eco School ambassadors, who will introduce them to the concept of sustainability and explore how they can take action to live more sustainably. Throughout the week, the children will also engage in fun, hands-on activities in their classrooms, reinforcing these important lessons.

We invite you to participate in our School Uniform Swap Shop as part of Qatar Sustainability Week!

Any school uniform in good, wearable condition can be donated to the swap shop. Students are encouraged to bring in unwanted NAISAK uniforms, helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability. Parents will have the opportunity to take gently used uniforms for their children, offering an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for school attire.

Sustainability Week Celebration: A Collaborative Family Initiative

Following the discussions during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), countries around the world are exploring ways to cut carbon emissions and scale-up financing for emissions reductions. 

Alshaya Group Qatar, in collaboration with DeapQatar, is organizing a Beach Clean-Up Drive on 27th September 2024 in line with World Clean-Up Day activities. The event will be attended by over 100 employees from across the country who have volunteered to join and actively participate to make our planet a better place to live. Friends and families of employees will also join, providing an atmosphere for children to learn and understand the importance of preserving our natural environments.
