Day 2- MEATLESS MONDAY Vegan Food
- Students and teachers bring vegan food indicating the farm to table practice.
- Sustainable Catering Challenge along with Parental Community. A cooking competition will be hosted where students prepare dishes using locally sourced (Qatar Made), sustainable ingredients. Judges can evaluate taste, creativity, and environmental impact.
Day 1 - ECO-CHAMPION CHALLENGE INTER & INTRA SCHOOL COMPETITIONS
- Environmental Trivia Quiz: Questions related to sustainable goals and implementations.
- Trash to Treasure: Students from different campuses will transform old/discarded items into unique work of art like notepads, eco bags, Paper Art, Accessories and creating wax crayons Together for a sustainable tomorrow.
SUSTAINABILITY WEEK ‘SUSTAINNOVATION’ at The next Generation School will be celebrated under the theme ‘From Actions to ideas’ with a series of events and Inter & Intra school competitions judged by our panel of teachers as per the following schedule.
تقوم فكرة المشروع على ابتكار منتج مضاد للأكسدة يعمل على حفظ الثمار من التلف لفترة أطول، ومستخلص من شجرة محلية من البيئة القطرية، ويساعد المنتج شركات تصدير الفواكه والخضروات على تقليل تكاليف شراء منتجات مثل: الشمع أو آلات سحب الأكسجين وغيرها عوضًا عن أنه منتج طبيعي يطيل من عمر الفاكهة والخضراوات فترة أطول من فترتها الطبيعية، ويحافظ على شكل الفاكهة البراق ويحفظها من التعفن
يجاد طرائق بسيطة وغير مكلفة لإزالة أيونات النحاس والرصاص والحديد والزنك باستعمال مادة الكايتوسان المستخلصة من قشور الأسماك والربيان بطريقة بيولوجية نانوية غير مضرة للبيئة , استخلصنا مادة الكايتوسان مع جسيمات الفضة بطريقة بيولوجية حيث تعد من أفضل الطرق المستخدمة، لأن الطرق الكيميائية والفيزيائية قد تؤدي إلى وجود مواد سامة مرافقة لجسيمات الفضة النانوية أثناء استخدامها.
There will be 3 classes dedicated to discussing Environmental Sustainability, and training school students to debate on these issues. The first on 5th November 4pm-7pm, will involve Qatari school students who have applied for the National Debate Team. The second and third class will be on 7th November4pm-6pm, consisting of preparatory and secondary school students who are part of our Debate Academy. All 3 classes will discuss importance of the environment, navigating complex issues regarding policy interventions, and the art of persuasion in advocacy.
The initiative to recycle electronic appliances and electronic toys for use in scientific research projects is an important step towards promoting sustainability and reducing electronic waste. This initiative includes a set of steps that can contribute to achieving this goal: Collection and Inspection of Devices and Toys: The initiative begins by collecting electronic appliances and electronic toys from consumers or companies. These devices and toys are inspected to determine if they can be recycled and used in scientific research projects.
Recycling materials in schools is not just a practical waste management strategy; it's an investment in a sustainable future. It empowers students with the knowledge and skills needed to address environmental challenges and contribute to a greener, more responsible society. Embracing recycling and sustainability, schools play a vital role in shaping environmentally conscious citizens who will continue to make positive contributions to the planet throughout their lives.
This initiative is in participation with Qatar Green Building Council’s 2018 Sustainability Week which is scheduled to occur 30th of October 2018.
The lecture will be led by one of our Sustainability advocates which aims to provide relevant information to the students about understanding sustainability and how we can take care of our environment as part of our social responsibility with the following goals below:
