Awareness Activities

Sustainability activities will focus on educating students about environmental responsibility through hands-on and engaging experiences. The school will organize recycling competitions, where students will collect and categorize waste materials and create art projects using upcycled items. Workshops on topics like water conservation, renewable energy, and sustainable gardening will be conducted, giving students practical knowledge of how to reduce their ecological footprint. 

1. ورشة صنع الفخار (اصنع بلمسة الطبيعة): تنظيم ورش عمل للمبتدئين لصنع قطع فخارية بسيطة مثل الأكواب والأوعية، مع التركيز على استخدام الطين كمادة طبيعية تقلل الاعتماد على البلاستيك، مع عرض وبيع المنتجات الفخارية الصديقة للبيئة.

 2. عرض إعادة تدوير الطين (دورة حياة الطين): تقديم عرض يوضح كيفية استعادة واستخدام الطين المتبقي وتحويله إلى قطع جديدة، مع تسليط الضوء على تقليل النفايات، وعرض قطع فخارية مصنوعة من مواد معاد تدويرها للبيع.

Join us during Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) for an engaging team-building experience that explores the vital role of plants in our workspaces and their connection to sustainable living. This workshop is designed to educate employees on the importance of greenery in enhancing productivity, well-being, and environmental responsibility.

The Ride to COP29 is a groundbreaking 10-country E-bike expedition setting off from Dubai, UAE, and culminating at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. Led by renowned climate activist Ali Abdo, this impactful journey will traverse the diverse landscapes through Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, and Georgia along the way.

The Ride to COP29 is more than just a physical journey; it's a movement to ignite hope, inspire change, and empower people to build a sustainable future for all.

• Office Goes Green is a global program designed by Holcim , Readymix Qatar management partner to make offices more sustainable and raise internal awareness of everyday environmental habits by:
  • Using resources and energy more responsibly in offices (Switch Off electrical equipment if not required)
  • Reducing waste and plastic (Identify and list Internal Processes that require you to print/use papers and can be moved to digital)
  • Helping employees adopt greener habits (Installing Hand Driver to reduce paper usage)

Social media posts and office activities include:

• Swedish sustainable companies and or fun-facts daily posts on social media platform during the week.
• Staff bringing home-cooked meals and vegetarian meals.
• Staff walking to/from work instead of car rides.
• Post tips on social media about how to be more climate-friend in everyday life (eg. reusable bottles/mugs, vegetarian recipes).

The Al-Ahnaf Bin Qais School has developed a project for water filtration using electromagnetic sensing technology. The goal of this project is to purify water using advanced technology that relies on detecting impurities and contaminants through electromagnetic sensing.

The project includes training sessions for students on how to design and implement electromagnetic filtration systems, enhancing their skills in science and technology and contributing to the provision of clean and drinkable water. 

The event will be designed for UDC employees, Qatar cool, HDC and RME to clean LPC beach in The Pearl Island from the waste.

UDC to celebrate the achievements in dedicated event and provide certificates of recognitions for retails participated in the plastic campaign and present the campaign achievements.
