Qatar Sustainability Week at The Next Generation School (TNG) Nuaija Campus- an annual celebration of our commitment to climate action and sustainability! This week-long event from October 29, 2023 to November 9, 2023 is a showcase of our dedication to a greener, more environmentally-conscious future and features a wide range of activities that promote positive change and global climate action.
"Eco Warriors Stand Together" - A Day Dedicated to Climate Action Awareness: During this day, students are invited to wear green or nature-themed attire to demonstrate their solidarity as eco warriors. It's a visual representation of our collective effort to combat climate change and raise awareness about the pressing issues our planet faces.
Schools Annual "Adopt a Plant" Plantation Activity: As part of our Global Climate Action Project. The project aims to change students' behavior and societies' mindset concerning climate change and environmental threats through education. We kick off the Global Climate Action Project for Qatar Sustainability Week with our annual plantation activity "Adopt a Plant" initiative. Students are encouraged to adopt a plant to symbolize their commitment to the environment. The week begins with a planting activity where students come together to nurture the green life they've chosen to take care of.
"Baking for a Better World" - Student Council Bake Sale: In the spirit of making a difference, our Student Council organizes a delightful "Baking for a Better World" bake sale. This event features an array of homemade treats made by our parents and students. The funds raised will go toward supporting various sustainability projects within different communities, in partnership with Charity Week approved by Education Above All', which raises money for orphans and needy children.
"Colours of Kindness" Campaign: Beyond environmental awareness, for the occasion of Qatar Sustainability Week we aim to promote kindness and inclusivity. The "Colours of Kindness" campaign encourages students to dress in either orange or blue, symbolizing their commitment to standing against bullying. It's a day that highlights the importance of empathy, respect, and supporting one another.
The school will host several activities for this campaign. Qatar Sustainability Week is more than just a calendar event for our school; it's an embodiment of our school's dedication to climate action, sustainability, and fostering a compassionate community.
