This is NOT an event but part of Qatar Tourism's standards and businss mandate: 

Qatar Tourism is the regulatory body for the tourism sector in Qatar, and is mandated to license, classify and inspect all tourism establishments and activities taking place in the country, including Hotels, tourism resorts, hotel apartments, tourism camps, floating hotels, any other places dedicated for the accommodation of tourists, as well as places essentially intended for receiving or providing tourists with various recreational services, such as permanent and temporary amusement parks, tourism clubs, tourism offices, tourism transport offices, tourism tour guiding offices, time sharing offices, etc.

• Qatar Tourism's licensee must be considerate to the environment and adhere to the minimum environmental sustainability requirements stipulated in the respective Classification Manual related to the specific regulated tourism sector.
• Qatar Tourism takes into consideration investments that prove their positive impact or zero impact on the environment. Investment plans and investors in the sector need to provide environment sustainability study and impact analysis supporting their tourism projects in Qatar as part of the approval process.
• Qatar Tourism requires the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change approval and non objection letter (along with other government entities') before moving forward with projects in Qatar.
• Qatar Tourism recycles its own plastic and paper waste and works in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the private sector in this regard.
