Our kindergarteners will engage in a comprehensive week of learning activities to raise awareness and promote sustainability. This initiative aligns with our participation in Qatar Sustainability Week 2024, where students will explore eco-friendly practices, participate in interactive projects, and deepen their understanding of the environment. Through these engaging activities, we aim to instill lifelong values of environmental stewardship in our students, empowering them to impact our planet positively.
Creative Art Projects from Recycled Materials: Students will use recyclable items such as paper, plastic bottles, and cartons to create fun art projects and mosaics on cardboard, transforming waste into creative designs.
Mini Green Garden: Students will plant seeds in recycled pots and explore the world of gardening in a designated garden area. Through this hands-on activity, they will learn about nature and contribute to promoting sustainability.
School Garden with Drip Irrigation: Involving students in planting and installing a drip irrigation system that uses minimal water. This teaches about water-efficient agriculture.
Water-Saving School Rules: Students will start by watching short, child-friendly videos about water conservation. Following this, they will work together to develop a set of water-saving rules and create and decorate a “Water-Saving Rules” chart for the school.
Reducing Food Waste: Students will learn how to reduce food waste and become food-saving heroes. A classroom food waste chart will track waste over the week, and students will earn stickers or stars for making progress in reducing waste.
Light Patrol: Students will be responsible for turning off classroom lights when not in use. A tally system will track how often lights are turned off in empty rooms, helping students learn about energy conservation.
