- ENERGY EFFICIENCY
o AC temperature to keep at 22c or higher as depends on the month we are in.
o All the unused lights & electronics / machines including ACs to switch off and turn off lights & electronics / machines including ACs after working hours.
o Encouraging to turn off computers when not in use. It doesn't hurt it.
o Computers are on standby mode - if computers are unused for periods of time they are to be set to go into standby mode within a short time.
o Used light wall colors; light paint colors and higher gloss sheens reflecting daylight.
- PAPER SYNERGY
o Use of double sided printing and keep one sided used papers for future use if they are of no other use. Don’t trash them.
o Trying to go "paperless" by only printing documents if necessary. There's no reason that inter-office communications can't be done electronically.
o Saving papers by not printing whenever possible. Prominent sign up in the office has been there to remind users to print only when necessary.
o Trying to use cloth towels or hand dryers instead of paper towels. Tissue usage to be reduced at minimum level.
o Will have extra bins in the office for recycling documents, notes, plastics, etc.
o Will consider buying 100% recycled paper.
o Using TVs or overhead projectors to display meeting agendas rather than printing and distributing them.
- WATER PRESERVATION
o Encouraging staff to turn off taps completely, ensuring that they don't drip. A tap, leaking at a rate of only one drop per second, can waste more than 25 liters of water a day – that's about 10,000 liters a year (as per some research).
o One time use water plastic bottles are to be discouraged. For employees, water dispensers are already installed so one time use water plastic bottles are still banned as per previous instructions.
- PLANTATION
Our office has large real plants. They're not only green and pretty but great for recycling the air.
- ECO- FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
o Encouraging staff to use "real" mugs, glasses, dishes and cutlery rather than disposables. It takes just seconds to wash a mug.
o Eco- friendly cleaning products.
- SUSTAINABILITY AWARENESS TEAM
o Team of 2 (two) has been formed to look after sustainability practices.
