The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) in association with Mwani Qatar have implemented a monitoring program to monitor the sources of air emissions at Hamad Port, Doha Port and Ruwais Port. Steps taken to reduce emissions include:

·        Continuous monitoring of Ambient Air Quality by fixed & mobile stations with real time data recording.

·        Temporary facilities that were energized by diesel generators at Advanced Port Complex, Old Agent Buildings & Container Terminal 3 are now energized by 3 package substations.

·        Reduced fuel consumption across all Mwani fleet vehicles by reducing the fleet cars & acquiring 2 AUDI ETRON electric cars.

·        Ongoing testing of internal port transportation using electric/CNG buses thus reducing the private vehicles inside port premises.

·        CT2 phase one operations commenced with electric terminal equipment's such as terminal tractors, Empty Container Handlers, STS and RTGs.

·        All buildings in Hamad Port are GSAS 4 STAR certified providing Hamad Port as Green Port status
