Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (Q.P.S.C.) encourages the community to recycle plastic bottles and aluminum cans through the dedicated reverse vending machines across 15 branches. Being the first in Qatar to introduce reverse vending machines to the public, this initiative was done as part of Al Meera’s commitment to reduce the volume of waste sent to the landfills and preserve the environment for future generations. To encourage members, Al Meera rewards customers with Meera Rewards points for every plastic bottle or aluminum can deposited into the machine for recycling. During Qatar Sustainability week, customers can earn 5 times the usual point issuance for recycling!

The initiative, also part of Al Meera’s efforts to translate the sustainability pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030 into action.
