Mohamed Al Sharif

Mohamed Al Sharif with over 30 years of experience in sustainable development, strategic partnerships, and policy advisory across the Arab region, he currently serves as Director of Partnerships, Strategy and Business Development Office, at the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (Arab Fund) in Kuwait.

He leads the development, management, and expansion of Arab Fund’s strategic partnerships across national, regional, and global levels, engaging key stakeholders including governments, international organizations (e.g., World Bank, IMF), MDBs, UN, private sector entities, and NGOs.

He plays a pivotal role in fostering collaborations to support sustainable development initiatives and mobilizing financial resources through innovative funding mechanisms in sectors such as energy, water, transport, healthcare, and education.

He drives efforts to achieve SDGs and strengthen the region’s growth and innovation.

Previously, Mohamed held senior positions at UNDP and UNESCO, where he played a pivotal role in shaping development strategies, supporting crisis response in conflict-affected areas, and leading the transition from the MDGs to the SDGs.

His work has focused on governance, capacity building, environmental sustainability, and institutional strengthening.

He holds advanced degrees in Petroleum Engineering and International Relations, along with specialized certifications from Yale, Oxford, and the University of Bradford.
