Steven Wright is an Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor of International Relations at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
He is also a Research Associate at HBKU’s Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR).
Dr. Wright's research expertise spans the international relations and political economy of the Gulf region, in addition to global energy geopolitics.
He has published extensively on these areas and his work has been translated into several languages.
Dr. Wright has been a keynote speaker at events hosted by organizations such as the World Bank and NATO.
He has worked as a consultant and in advisory roles with various governments and multinational corporations.
His perspectives on global affairs have been featured in leading international media outlets, including Bloomberg, CGTN, The Economist, Financial Times, Al Jazeera, Reuters, and The Wall Street Journal.
