
Odeh Al-Jayyousi is a professor of innovation policy at Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain since 2015.
His research interests include innovation policy, sustainability, foresight, and innovation management. He published over 70 articles in peer-reviewed international journals including 7 books on sustainable development, renewable energy, urban planning, and innovation. He was a vice-president for Science & Research at Royal Scientific Society, Jordan (2011-2013) and the regional director for IUCN (based in Switzerland) during 2004-2011.
Previously, he was a university professor in engineering and dean of research (1993-2004). He received many awards, i.e., Global Water Leadership, Stockholm; Award for Scientists for Social Initiatives, 2014; CSR Excellence Award in 2020, and Leaders of Sustainability Award 2023.
He led the development of AGU Strategic Plans (2017-2021) and (2025-2030). He also led the accreditation process for the PhD program. He was awarded his PhD in Urban Planning and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago.
