 Recep Şentürk is the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. He holds a PhD from Columbia University, Department of Sociology, and a BA in Islamic Studies from Marmara University in Istanbul. 

 He was the founding president of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul. He was also the founder of the Alliance of Civilizations Institute at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University. 

He specializes in civilization studies, sociology, and Islamic studies, focusing on social theories and methods, hadith, social networks, human rights, and modernization in the Muslim world. Şentürk’s publications are available in Turkish, English, Arabic, Japanese, and Spanish. 

He was an Emory University Law School research fellow and a British Academy Fellow at Oxford Brookes University. He is the founding president of Usul Academy and the International Ibn Khaldun Society.
