 Metadel is a researcher, project manager, and relationship-builder with a background in urban development, dedicated to fostering sustainable and inclusive cities. She specialises in public-private collaborations, focusing on urban transformation and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries. She believes in the transformative power of cities, where citizen engagement is key to shaping resilient urban environments.

Currently, Metadel is the Public Finance Innovation Lead and Researcher at Dark Matter Labs, supporting European cities in their transition to Net Zero by 2030 through the European Commission’s Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities. She works to help cities navigate financial, governance, and systemic barriers to climate action. Previously, she was at the World Economic Forum, working on strategies to decarbonise hard-to-abate industries.

Her academic background reflects her interdisciplinary approach to urban sustainability. She holds a Master’s in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford, where she focused on climate governance, public finance, and participatory urban planning. She also earned a Bachelor’s in Law, Philosophy, and Society from American University in Washington, D.C., strengthening her expertise in policy, governance, and ethics.

Metadel’s work sits at the intersection of finance, governance, and urban innovation, exploring how cities can mobilise resources, form partnerships, and accelerate systemic change. She is passionate about designing financial and governance mechanisms that make Net Zero cities not only achievable but also equitable and resilient.
