The Arid Cities Network (ACN) is a city-level partnership and community of practice to accelerate the delivery of sustainable and resilient solutions at a regional and/or global scale for hot and arid cities, grounded in traditional knowledge. The network will officially launch during a high-level segment at the Earthna Summit 2025, where mayors of member cities are invited to attend and participate. Membership in the network is entirely collaborative, requiring no financial obligations from participating member cities.
The network builds on the discussions from the Earthna Summit 2023, where the policy brief "Urban Climate Change Governance in Hot and Arid Zones: Mutual Learning and Partnerships to Build Sustainable Resilience Solutions" was presented. The policy brief highlighted the distinct challenges and circumstances faced by hot and arid cities and underscored the need for a city-level partnership, laying the groundwork for the initiation of the network.
