The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, is collaborating with Earthna, Centre for a Sustainable Future to organise an educational event for school children in the mangrove forest at Al Ruwais. This event is hosted by the Zulal Wellness team and will take place at their outstanding Resort. The outreach activity is part of the joint mangrove restoration project funded by MSC Foundation involving collaboratively the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Earthna, and the Environmental Science Center, Qatar University.

The educational program is based on Earthna’s EcoSchools guidelines and practices, around the theme of coastal and marine ecosystems.  During the tour, the majestic marine ecosystems surrounding the mangroves will be explored on foot. Through observation, story-telling, fun activities and a “nature-treasure-hunt”, students will learn about the marine plants and animals that make their home in the mangrove forest. The students will also learn how to become respectful stewards of nature, and ways that they can help with nature protection and conservation. There will also be time to relax and enjoy refreshments on the seaside boardwalk of Zulal, before departure.
