- Internal awareness among Qatar Post staff on sustainable development and environmental conservation.
- Issuing a variety of stamps that support the culture of sustainability and preservation of the environment and wildlife within the State of Qatar.
Adopting a culture of sustainability by making the following changes:
1- Transforming the printer system from personal printers to central shared ones for all employees.
2- Implementing recycling by contracting specialized companies collect and recycle waste including paper and plastic.
3- Transforming operations from a hard copies system to digital in the following fields :
- HR department; paper system replaced with the Oracle system
- Delivery department; paper receipts & bills were replaced with electronic PDA’S Tablets
- Communication Department; internal communications done by emails.
4- Implementing changes in the Facility Management;
- Replacing 80% of the fluorescent lamps to LED.
- Installing water aerator, the result is the reduction of water usage by a 65% in faucets and 22% in WCs.
- Installing water treatment system, the result is savings of 80% in water.
5- Implementing changes in Operation:
- Qatar Post Fleet; monitoring the fuel consumption through GPS and fuel chip system.
- Adopting the ISO 14001 environment management system.
- Planting 3,000 seedlings to offset pollution caused by Qatar Post operations
- Using Oscar system of UPU, Online Solution Carbon Analysis and Reporting, to support sustainability and reduction of carbon emissions.
6- Changing the Procurement Policy:
- Committing suppliers and subcontractors with internal environmental requirements of Qatar Post. For example using environmentally friendly materials and recycled materials.
-Using 100% recycled Carton boxes for all Qatar Posts Parcels & EMS Services.
